This is college admission decision season for applicants. Some will get acceptance emails while others will get denied or deferred. What's deferred you ask? Deferred means that the student was a good candidate but not quite as competitive as others. The decision on the student application has been deferred to the regular admission decision timeline. Sometimes the student is deferred when they are competitive but the college has accepted their limit of early admission applicants and must wait until regular admission decisions to accept more students. It is important that students who are deferred make sure that their mid-year grade reports are sent as soon as possible. An additional grade report or test score for ACT or SAT can make a difference in the final admission decision. |
